What is an Eyebrow Lift?

Regain a fresh look with an Eyebrow Lift, giving you a more youthful and open-eyed appearance. It can banish unwanted tired, sad, or angry expressions. Anticipate a superior natural result that avoids a ‘surprised’ or ‘frightened’ look. Addressing sagging eyebrows, frown lines, wrinkles and hooded upper eyelids with minimal scarring and quick recovery, is my expertise.

I offer a range of Brow Lift procedures tailored to your desires. For optimal results I favor he Endoscopic Browlift and the Temporal Browlift in most clients, due to excellent outcomes that really brighten your eyes.
Eyebrow Lift Procedure
Endoscopic Browlift
Experience this thorough yet minimally invasive method that efficiently elevates and reforms the entire eyebrow. The Endoscopic Eyebrow Lift diminishes upper eyelid hooding and softens eye-area wrinkles. Through discreet incisions behind the hairline, I use advanced endoscopic technology to enhance the complete eyebrow, giving you a rejuvenated look

Temporal Browlift
For a subtle, yet effective Eyebrow Lift, consider a Temporal Brow Lift that raises the outer 1/3 of the eyebrow, reduces hooding over the upper eyelids, and smooths wrinkles around the eyes.

Through one discreet incision above each ear, concealed by the hairline, the brow is reshaped, unveiling eyes that radiate youthful openness.

Mini Browlift
The Mini Browlift is a gentle, minimally invasive technique refines the outer eyebrow shape and can be combined with an upper eyelid correction under local anesthesia for your convenience.

This procedure lifts the outer eyebrow discreetly through an incision in the upper eyelid crease, that is also used for upper eyelid correction.

Direct Browlift
The Direct Browlift is a localized Eyebrow Lift that offers precise and direct elevation of the complete eyebrow.
Using an incision directly above the eyebrow, this approach is particularly suitable for individuals with severe eyebrow sagging who can’t undergo general anesthesia, and men with dense eyebrows that conceal scarring.

Who is an ideal candidate for an Eyebrow Lift?

Dropdown icon
Good candidates for an Eyebrow Lift are men and women who are showing signs of aging in their face, or who have a tired or angry look, while they are not feeling like that.

Deciding whether you need a Brow Lift is a personal choice that depends on your individual concerns and goals. However, several common signs and conditions may indicate that an Eyebrow Lift could be beneficial for you.

1. Sagging eyebrows: If your eyebrows have started to droop or sag, giving you a perpetually tired, angry or sad appearance, a brow lift can help restore a more youthful and refreshed look.

2. Hooded or Heavy-looking eyes: When the eyebrows droop significantly, they can create a hooded effect on the upper eyelids, making your eyes appear smaller or heavier. An eyebrow lift can elevate the eyebrows, revealing more of the upper eyelids and brightening the eyes.

3. Frown lines between the eyebrows: If you have noticeable vertical lines between your eyebrows, commonly referred to as "frown lines" or "11 lines," a brow lift can soften their appearance and provide a more relaxed expression.

4. Impaired vision: In some patients, severe brow sagging can obstruct your vision, especially the upper field of view. A brow lift can help open the eye area, improving your visual field.
5. Desire for a refreshed and more youthful appearance: If you are dissatisfied with your current appearance and wish to restore a more youthful, energetic, and alert look, an eyebrow lift can be a transformative procedure.

6. Non-surgical Treatments no longer sufficient: While non-surgical treatments like Botox and fillers can provide temporary lifting effects, they may no longer be effective in addressing more advanced brow sagging. In such cases, a surgical brow lift might be a better option.

7. Revision Brow Lift:  in case of unsatisfactory results or complications following their initial brow lift, such as asymmetry, scarring issues, or unnatural positioning of the eyebrows.

It’s crucial to consult with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to determine if you are a suitable candidate for an eyebrow lift. During the consultation, I will assess your facial anatomy, discuss your concerns and expectations, and recommend the most appropriate approach to achieve your desired results.

The ideal patient is in good health and refrains from consuming alcohol and tobacco before and after their procedure.

FAQ

What causses sagging eyebrows?

The aging process is the primary cause of sagging brows. As we age, our skin gradually loses its elasticity, and the underlying tissues weaken. Factors that contribute to sagging brows include:

1. Natural aging: Over time, the skin's collagen and elastin levels decrease, leading to loss of firmness and elasticity in the forehead area.

2. Sun damage: Prolonged exposure to the sun's harmful UV rays accelerates the breakdown of collagen, hastening the formation of wrinkles and sagging skin.

3. Genetics: Some individuals may have a genetic predisposition to early brow sagging due to inherited skin characteristics and shape of the eye socket.

4. Lifestyle Habits: Smoking, poor nutrition, and significant weight loss can also contribute to premature aging and sagging.

What are the costs of an Eyebrow Lift?

I believe in transparency. The cost of an Eyebrow Lift varies, and it is essential to understand this important investment in yourself.

• During your consultation I make an analysis of your face, eyes, eyebrow, and forehead, and discuss the possibilities for enhancement of its appearance with you, taking your concerns and expectations into account.

• Depending on your wishes and the specific surgical requirements we make a plan.

• The cost of Eyebrow Lift procedure varies by the extent of the surgery.

• To maintain harmony in your face, it can also be indicated to perform other procedures like a Facelift, or Eyelid correction simultaneously.

What are the benefits of an Eyebrow Lift?

An Eyebrow Lift has the power to get back your youthful look.

A well-executed Eyebrow lift by an experienced surgeon can turn back the clock. Eyebrow Lifts create a natural rejuvenation of eye area by opening up the eye and smoothing wrinkles.

Patients report increased self-confidence, improved self-image, and enhanced overall quality of life.

What are the risks of an Eyebrow Lift?

Understand the Eyebrow Lift Risk. I believe in informed decisions.

• An eyebrow lift procedure, like any surgery, has some risks.

• Complications that can occur with Brow Lift surgery, are infection, pain, scalp numbness, wound healing problems, hematoma (bleeding) temporary alopecia, and asymmetry.

• The traditional brow lift can leave behind a long, pronounced scar and even retract the hairline. Although the endoscopic browlift does not use large incisions, it can still cause facial nerve injury and mild hair loss.

• These complications are relatively uncommon, and as a very experienced facial specialist, I deliver the best results with the fewest possible post-surgical problems.

At what age should I get an Eyebrow Lift?

• Anyone of any age is welcome to undergo an Eyebrow Lift, especially if they are unhappy with their forehead lines, the position of their eyebrows, or their droopy upper eyelids.

• The most brow lift candidates fall between the ages of 40 and 65.

How painful is an Eyebrow Lift?

Many patients report a headache the first night following a browlift, which can be managed with prescribed medications.

Within the next two days the headache subsides, and patients report they feel more swollen and bruised, but not real pain. It is best not to bend over, and do no heavy lifting or strenuous work to minimize swelling.

Most patients can return to light activities within a week after the Brow Lift procedure.

It is essential to follow the post-operative instructions carefully to ensure a smooth healing process and achieve optimal results.

When can I start working again after an Eyebrow Lift?

The first few days after eyebrow surgery you will be able to work from home, but another 5-7 days will be needed to have the most obvious swelling and bruising disappear.

My advise to patients is to take 10 days off from work.

After a mini-browlift, you can usually return to work after 3 days.

When is a revision Brow Lift needed?

There are several scenarios in which a revision brow lift may be considered:

1. Unsatisfactory results: If a patient is dissatisfied with the outcome of their initial brow lift, a revision procedure may be recommended to address the remaining concerns or to refine the results further.

2. Natural aging: Over time, the effects of the initial brow lift may be affected by natural aging processes. A revision surgery can help refresh the appearance and maintain the desired outcome.

3. Complications: In some cases, patients may experience complications following their initial brow
lift, such as asymmetry, scarring issues, or unnatural positioning of the eyebrows. A revision procedure can correct these issues and improve the overall result.

What is the natural position of the eyebrow in men and in woman?

When you are lying flat on your back, you your eyebrows are in their natural position since gravity is switched off.

Natural position of Eyebrows in women: is slightly above the bony ridge of the eye socket (supra-orbital rim). They naturally have a more arched shape.

Natural position of the Eyebrows in men: is usually closer to the supra-orbital rim, or lie along it. They naturally have a more straight appearance.

It is important to note that there is considerable individual variation in eyebrow positioning. Facial bone structure, genetics, and personal preferences all play a role in determining the exact position and shape of the eyebrows for each person.

What is the difference between a Brow Lift and a Forehead Lift?

The brow lift and forehead lift have different goals.

Eyebrowlift: lifts the brow’s position and it can also correct drooping and hooded upper eyelids, which makes the patient look less tired or angry.

Foreheadlift: smooths the deep wrinkles and creases of the forehead. It does not dramatically change the position of the brows.

What is the difference between a Traditional Brow Lift and an Endoscopic Brow Lift?

Traditional Browlift: (also called Trichial Browlift)
• Uses a big incision, from ear to ear over the top of the head, and can sometimes damage nerves, leave a prominent scar and damage hair follicles.
• It lifts the eyebrows accurately.
• It has a recovery time of 2 weeks.

Endoscopic Browlift:
• Uses tiny incisions in hidden parts of the scalp, so there is minimal scarring and prevents nerve and muscle trauma.
• It lifts the sagging brow accurately.
• The endoscopic browlift’s recovery time is about 1 week.
